Media Release 08th April 2011 POPCRU supports the Swaziland Revolution for Democracy
POPCRU has welcomed the 01st Anniversary since the launch of the Swaziland Democracy Campaign at Braamfontein Civic Centre,Gauteng in 2010,which afforded a platform of all progressive forces to wage a consolidated fight against the Tinkundla sysyem. Many workers in particular and the working class in generalĀ are subjected to a minimalist system that benefits only the royal family and the "yes groupings" of the King. We have since 2001 after the Badplaas National Congress and later the 06th National Congress resolved to consolidate unionization of SADC Countries including Swaziland. And the strugle for democracy was at the centre of our Congress Resolutions. And such practical solidarity efforts with the workers of Swaziland has been our total support to Swaziland Police Union [SWAPU] and Swaziland Correctional Services Union [SWACU]. And on the occasion of the SDC Anniversary, we are calling the Swaziland Police Officers and other Law Enforcement Agencies to defy the instruction to act against the masses. They must join the people on the streets and struggle with the masses for a lifetime freedom for all. POPCRU adjures all progressive forces to unite, mobilize and take the revolution forward as led by PUDEMO.And we are calling all South African Artists to refrain from being used to promote Swaziland whilst the masses are suffering under outrageous conditions of high prevalence of HIV/AIDS,lack of a proper health system, disrespect of the rule of law,non-adherance to a separation of powers and the banning of political parties. Forward with International Solidarity Support with the people of Swaziland! Forward with the 12th April 2011 Collapse of the Tinkundla System! Forward with Unbanning of All Political Parties!
