Cadres, How do we go back to putting the interests of our people first and not our personal interests? This is a question that I never thought I ask myself with regard to our movement. I know that there will be some of you within the forum who will not understand what I mean by this question. It is a very constructive question. Former ministers like Sicelo Shiceka who have been mandated to ensure that municipalities deliver to the people abused public office and public funding for his own personal interests. It is not only him, there are a lot of cadres who are doing what he did but we are seeing no disciplinary action being taken against them and neither are they reprimanded!
Cadres, I am a member of the ANC and have been for years. I have never seen what is happening now. Cadre Vavi has warned cadres on numerous occassions that should they not shape up we will soon have a non ANC led government. Communities are up in arms over lack of service delivery and government's response to that is being mute to their calls. A member of the movement in Ficksburg was beaten up and killed whilst protesting for lack of services! Mr Tatane died in the hands of the South African Police. Mr Tatane's death is not the first but it is one of many protest killings that the police have committed around the country. The 400 members of parly did not vote for themselves! The majority of people who put our movement into power are ordinary citizens who do not belong to any party. People who have never even attended a political gathering! These days are very hard as we campaign yet once again for the Local Government elections. It is hard because some of our cadres who have been counsillors have not delivered anything to their ward members! It is further made hard by the List issue. Cadres let me not not say more but I would like us to discuss around the subjected issue. afterall this is a discussion forum. let uus engage! -- You are subscribed. This footer can help you.
