From: DUMISA NTULI [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 18 April 2011 01:28 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS GAUTENG PROVINCE Walter Sisulu House No. 94 Commissioner Street Tel: (011) 227 9300 6th Floor Fax: 0865819223 Johannesburg email: [email protected] 2000 082 3711158 18 April 2011 ANC GAUTENG PROVINCE - PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ANC GAUTENG WELCOMES COPE LEADERS AND MEMBERS BACK HOME! The ANC Gauteng Province welcomes back to the ranks of the movement three former leaders of COPE in the ranks of the ANC. The ANC was their home before they went to form COPE. The movement remains the home for all South Africans who are committed to the ideal of a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic, prosperous and just society espoused in the Freedom Charter and the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. Their decision to rejoin the ANC is informed by their conclusion that the movement remains the best vehicle to realize the ideals and vision of espoused in the two founding documents of our nation and democracy. The names of the leaders and members are as follows: . John Ngcebetsha: Former Gauteng Provincial Chairperson and member of the Congress National Committee. . Lunga Kepe: former member of the Congress National Committee in charge of Organising Young Professionals. . Onkgopotse JJ Tabane: former Spokesperson and Advisor to the Leader of COPE in Parliament. . Hlomla Dandala and Zwai Bala: Young Artists and former Youth Mobilisation Activist for COPE. We expect more former leaders and members of COPE to come back to their organization in the run-up to the local government elections and ANC Centenary. These leaders are now going to be referred to their relevant branches where they live so that they can take part in the ongoing task of building better communities.
