*Press Alert;* *NUMSA GENERAL SECRETARY AND COSATU CEC MEMBER IRVIN JIM SPEAKS TO WORKERS TO VOTE ANC!*
*18 April 2011* *IRVIN JIM*, General Secretary of the NUMSA and COSATU CEC member will address the COSATU mass meeting tomorrow 19 April 2011, Nangoza Jebe Hall (formerly Centenary Hall), New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, Eastern Cape province. The mass meeting forms part of COSATU’s elections mobilization of the workers to vote en masse the ANC-led Alliance during the forthcoming local government elections happening on the day of Cde Walter Sisulu’s birthday Wednesday 18 May 2011. The COSATU of Vuyisile Mini; Moses Mabhida; Elijah Barayi; John Gomomo; Jabulile Ndlovu and Violet Seboni is proud of the achievements made by the ANC-led Alliance over the years. The workers of our country know that their aspirations and interest can best be served by the ANC-led Alliance. The poor of Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality are aware that a vote for any other party except the ANC is a betrayal to our revolutionary icon and proud hero of our people President Nelson Mandela. COSATU as the reliable ally of the ANC and trusted anchor of the vanguard party of the working class, the SACP, will remain true to Chris Hani’s words in its defense of the ANC-led Alliance, "We as the ANC-led liberation alliance have nothing to fear, and everything to gain, from a climate of political tolerance. We do not fear open contest and free debate with other organisations. Open debate can only serve to uncover the bankruptcy of our political opponents".
