Media Release 20th April 2011 POPCRU welcomes the seizure of drugs in Cape Town, Western Cape POPCRU has welcomed the bust of drug traffickers who are hell-bent to destroy the South African nation in Cape Town with 2 million worth of drugs chemicals by the South African Police Services. We view these efforts as part of the realization of the five government priorities set by the new administration and we call upon the citizens to come forward with more information to make more arrests of that nature. Making 2011 a "Year of a Good Cop" as envisaged by the Ministry of Police demands a lot of discipline and professional conduct, to deal with few people harboring ambitions to stupefy our nation through drugs. Working together with communities through the Community Policing [Safety] Forums is the only vehicle to eradicate the scourge of substance abuse and we are appealing for cooperation from all stakeholders to cooperate with the police to fight crime where we live.
