Comrades, The policies and programs of the African National Congress are clear, the capabilities of our process is greater than ever before as we have realised our short-comings and taken corrective action to adress such. In such cases, double-sided verification of events which led to any short-comings are/have been verified to understand the causes that led to failure. From the evidence gathered and service delivery protests which sprang all over the country, we cant absolutely conclude the actual limits of our capability to bring a better life to our communities as often cited by opposition. The process of improving our peoples material and social conditions is gaining momentum. The South African way of life has three three attributes, namely : wrong, corrective and correct but unfortunately there are some institutions in our society who thinks we only have two extremes(i.e Right and Wrong). If we can look at the statistical description of how great economies have been developed irrespective of their political affiliation, whether based on Communist, Social or any other programs, we can all clearly see or conclude that there is a variability of both extremes and under normal conditions a developing society such as ours can only be estimated between the ranges of both the limits of "Wrong and Correct". Our movement has achieved a lot from 1912 till to date. Acceptance of the present situation unlike denial or rejection is not a sign of weakness. Mistakes made by our democratic and revolutionary institutions are far less greater than the ones made by any autrocratic or criminal administrations which preceded our modern day government. Failure is acceptable in any system but it should be controlled and causes eliminated. I think our main tasks is to measure our outputs as opposed to our goals. Opposition wants to hold us to ransom by expecting us to "Do it right every first time" and behaving as if that's the only acceptable approach for any government- Not even their apartheid collaborators could get that right. Historically a broader inference could be drawn from the fact that our movement has been very inclusive, realisng that no nation or race has been endowed with the universal intellect or qualifies to solely proclaim to be the custodians of human civilization hence our effort in every opportunity given to include anyone in the celebrations of our gains or when we chart a way forward. We cannot dictate, either in terms used by lawmakers or even scholars how our members who are holding public office will carry themselves- we can only give guidance and monitor their perfomance. Delivery and perfomance cant be an enigma, the crucial task that we all have after the elections is the transferral of skills, services and knowledge by those elected into public office irrespective of our political orientation, and the responsibility of the community is to attend meetings and take an active part in managing our democracy. Our party is a symbol of submission and inclusion which facilitates good governance. Like Genghis Khan(1162-1227) when he said"In the space of seven years I have succeded in accomplishing a great work and uniting the whole world into one Empire" I would like to say that the ANC led government has achieved a lot into bringing a fragmented, polarized nation into a colourful and vibrant society dancing to the same rythm and for that I am very grateful to be part of such a political process and hope that we can all adopt a continuous improvement approach towards governance in this country instead of a reactionary pragmatic approach which seeks to override a nation which is prepared to enter into dialogue, create focus groups to deliberate on any failures instead of perpetuating a tendency of impulsiveness which leads to civil unrests. Comradely yours, Lesetja Diphoko
