POPCRU welcomes the serious warning from the Cabinet on Police Killings

POPCRU has welcomed the South African Cabinet statement on the rising numbers
Police killing across the country.

The killings have continued to rob the citizen’s human capital ushered with a
Constitutional responsibility to make the citizens safe and secure.

We are elated by stance which eloquently captured what we have been advocating
which says “Cabinet is alarmed at the steady rise in the killing of police
officers by criminal elements of the society. Cabinet has issued a stern
warning
that any person found guilty of such criminal behavior will be dealt with by
the
full might of the law”.

POPCRU reiterates its call for all citizens to view policing as a societal
responsibility by which all must participate in through Organs of People’s
Power, amongst others; Street Communities, Ward Communities and Community
Safety
Forums, to wage a struggle against lawlessness.
