Jimmy has never violated anyone or even government 's rights since his
appointment as government communications and information system. He is doing
very well. In fact he is right, it is not his role to discuss cabinet decisions
but to communicate them.
The campaign against Jimmy is a campaign against ANC and ultimately the
alliance.
We must be careful not to be incorporated into mainstream agendas of the
broader imperialist offensive that seeks to criminalize our leaders.

Am not implying that anyone should support him and frankly if the ANC took the
decision to make him Spokesperson of Government then I believe that he should
be. . . As he clearly stated, his is to communicate decisions of the Cabinet
not "discussions". . .

As for him being "Capitalist" am more than certain that there are PLENTY of
capitalists in government, some who might even claim to be protagonists of
Socialism. . I don't think its fair to simply persecute the man on the basis of
his affiliation to BMF and what he gained - that has never been a secret and
all parties were well aware of his position prior to him becoming a Spokesperson

My issue is the manner in which he is being attacked. Am not saying there
aren't areas of improvement , however why can't people assist him in that
regard as opposed to simply baying for his blood. . .

He has merely spent 6months there and already he must be fired. . Jimmy Manyi
as far as I know isn't a member of the SACP and if I implied that members of
the SACP should support him, it was not meant to come out that way. . . Am
saying he must just be given a chance. . .

 ZUMA-ABOUT GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON JIMMY MANYI

Dear Cde Gugu,

Now that you are "out" as a Manyi supporter, could you please motivate why
we as SACP members, or just as plain ANC members, should support this
capitalist businessman Manyi as a cabinet spokesperson, regardless of what
he has said or not said about coloured people or about Trevor Manuel's
candidacy for the position of head of the IMF?

I mean, what is his track record in the movement, if any? Because all I know
is that he has a business career behind him and as far as I know he has
never confessed to any involvement in the mass movement, let alone the
vanguard.
