Updates on Developments on Public Service Negotiations for Public Servants
 
POPCRU has noted the impasse reached between the Department of Public Services 
and Administration as the Employer and all Trade Unions organizing in the 
Public 
Service on wage increase.
 
On the 05th May 2011 a dead-end was reached at the Public Service Collective 
Bargaining Council [PSCBC] and a proposition was advanced for a Facilitator to 
be secured to break the impasse, with a name of Mr.Currin Brian as person to 
take the process forward.
 
And the following processes will unfold as agreed upon by all Parties;
 
        * Mediation Process will resume on the 01st of June 2011 and the 02nd 
of June 
2011,
        * A Recess from the 06th of June 2011 to the 10th of June 2011 will be 
utilized 
by all Parties to consider Mediation proposals, reassesses positions and/or 
consulting on mandates from principals.
 
At the time a dead-lock was reached, the Employer represented by DPSA had 
tabled 
a wage offer of 5, 2% and Labour moved its initial wage demand of 10% to 9%.
 
Mediation process will thereafter resume on the 14th of June 2011 until the 
negotiations are concluded.
