Media Statement
09th June 2011
POPCRU welcomes the arrest of a suspect after killing a doctor at work in
Mpumalanga
POPCRU has noted the efficiency of the South African Police Services b
arresting
the suspect on the recent killing of Dr.Mkhize at the Middelburg Hospital,
Mpumalanga.
We reiterate our stance to continue to support a vision in the country to build
a decisive and responsive police service which is always on their pulse, to act
promtly on unlettered and improper conduct which undermine the safety and
security imperatives of all citizens within the national territory.
We also further join the Health Fraternity to mourn the untimely death of Dr
Mkhize and the Security Officer, who was injured in the process.
POPCRU applauds the Provincial Government for sending a delegation to ensure
workers at that institution are counseled against this unfortunate experience.
POPCRU would await justice to be delivered to the affected person[s] by the
Courts.
