When she was given an opportunity to lead the then Mpumalanga Youth Commission she took it with both hands and demonstrated she was a capable woman with vision of taking this province to another level of youth development. As a chairperson of the commission she worked with everybody, she was accessibly and willing to listen to different views. For that short time in office, she made an impact by trying to remove the perception that youth development and its agencies are for the June 16 events and after that go back to their hibernation till the next event. She worked with her staff and commissioners to lay a foundation for the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) in Mpumalanga and they knew the concept, the vision and clear programme of action for implementation. The PYA and the youth of Mpumalanga lost a visionary when she was removed, but we learnt that factions never care about your capacity and your good work, hope we are learning that factions are destructive, will never be progressive and will never assist the ordinary young person in the street except to safeguard the interest of the principals. As young people in Mpumalanga we have suffered a double blow because we hoped she will continue to contribute her ideas to the youth development of this province; firstly it was factional decision to remove her and secondly her final departure from this earth. We know that it is difficult for the family to lose a daughter and a granddaughter at the same time as she passed away with her daughter.
