SACP NW PROVINCIAL STATEMENT INDEFENSE OF ITS LEADERSHIP Friday, 5 August 2011
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the North West province rejects in totality the silly and politically mis-directed attacks on its leadership especially Comrade Gwede Mantashe, both the National Chairperson of the SACP and National Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC). As the SACP in the North West province we view this as part of the broad re-hearsal to discredit the Secretary General with the focus on the 2012 National elective conference of the ANC. It cannot be correct that tender-preneurs should use their public platform to attack leaders of their very organization and the same organization become silent even though its leaders are publicly attacked and ridiculed. The loud silent on the part of the ANC with regard to public attacks on the Secretary General is very disturbing and wrong . So is the conduct of the Provincial Secretary of the ANC in the North West province, Comrade Kabelo Motaboge, who the President of the ANC YL, Julius Malema acted in his defense in terms of the un-registered wards and candidates in both Tlokwe municipality and Matlosane municipality. We think we need to attack Kabelo for his failure to co-ordinate Alliance meetings and programmes whilst responding at given moment to defend the ANC YL President forgetting that he is no longer an ANCYL leader but that of the ANC., Accordingly, the attack on Comrade Gwede Mantashe cannot be isolated or dirvorced from this political corruption and greed which we believe Cde Julius Malaema and his cronies wants to defend by attacking Cde Gwede in this naughty fashion. As the SACP in this province we will be calling for an Alliance meeting in this province within which we will raise these matters including the removal attack on Communist cadres in a number of municipality in the province based on Mataboge’s anti communist agenda. However, as the SACP in the North West we will use our Extended Provincial Working Committee meeting over the weekend to outline our strategic and tactical approach to the above issues, we will further emerge with a clear strategy towards the 2012 political landscape as we know it will have serious political and governance impacts.
