Thank you gugu, hope the studying is going well.

That's very bold of the Youth League, let's hope this adoptive culture of
consultation will be utilised more often to avoid more errors and embarrassing
situations where apologies and retraction are expected.

Its mature and Iets apply such when dealing with sensitive yet necessary
issues, its evident now that mediocrity is but a waste of time.

Solidarity in respect of sovereignty, leadership that is selfless and visionary.

Let's allow principles in the YL and Mother body guide us,without loosing our
selves in the process, infact its well over due!

Still committed,

Petunia

Subject: ANC YL Media APOLOGY AND WITHDRAWAL OF THE ANC YOUTH LEAGUE NATIONAL
 EXECUTIVE STATEMENT ON BOTSWANA.

*APOLOGY AND WITHDRAWAL OF THE ANC YOUTH LEAGUE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE STATEMENT
ON BOTSWANA.*

* *

*13 August 2011*

The ANC Youth League apologies on and withdraws the statement of the
1stNational Executive Committee, which committed to establishment of a
Botswana
Command Team. We withdraw the statement and apologise because we note that
the leadership of the ANC took serious exception on the statement and
classified that statement as transgression of ANC Constitution and policies.

The ANC Youth League will nevertheless discuss internally the deeper
political and ideological considerations that made us make these statements
with the view and intention of establishing common ground and agreement with
the leadership of the ANC. The ANC Youth League has never and will never
define itself outside the policy confines and directives of the ANC, and
will whenever expected be available to listen to political and
organisational guidance from the leadership.

As the newly elected leadership of the ANC Youth League, we are looking
forward to engaging with the leadership of the ANC to thoroughly comprehend
the rules of engagement and how we take up issues, particularly on the
public discourse.
