*Press Statement of the South African Union of Students (SAUS) on *
*its National Congress to be held 25-28th August, Nelspruit Mpumalanga*
**
The South African Union of Students (SAUS) will be hosting its National
Congress on the 25-28th August 2011, in Mpumalanga: inline with our call for
a university to be built in the province. Under the theme *“We demand free
quality education, decent jobs and economic transformation”. *This seating
will have representation from all SRC’s within the 23 institutions of Higher
learning plus representatives from Further Education and Training colleges
throughout the country.
The National Congress is the highest decision making gathering of the
organisation and will amongst other things allow student leaders to
critically analysis and resolve on key societal and higher education
matters, interact with various stakeholders within the Higher Education
landscape, NGO’s, SETA’s and business.
The programme is as follows:
