Comrades There is one thing i have came to learn as a matter of principles leaders come and go and the organisation will forever remain. I will forever be loyal to the organisation and its principles and support leaders entrusted by the majority of the organisation to lead the organisation. I will at no point be loyal to individuals or leaders because at some point they will leave the organisation and we will continue to stay in the organisation. an example can be made through those who were loyal to Holomisa and left the organisation when he was let go by the organisation. Again comrades those who were loyal to Lekota and Shilowa also left the organisation when their leadership view was not adopted by the organisation. The Majority of us who know why we joined the ANC will forever be in the ANC and the leagues. The ANCYL does not exist to defend corruption or leaders who are costing the organisation and becoming a liability instead of assets to the organisation i really do not understand why would comrades really disregard internal disciplinary hearings that are within the structures of the movement and behave like hooligans with no directions.
If any member of the ANC or the ANCYL is charged it is an internal matter and not a matter outside the scope of the organisation i don't understand why would comrades really go all the way out to demonstrate against the ANC if they understand organisational structures and internal disciplinary procedings. This however tells me that we have a big problem on our hands because some people do not join the organisation but they rather join the movement. I am also worried with the fact that there are some in leadership positions who mobilized and rallied for this i wonder as to where did their sense of thinking go when they organize a march to defend one comrade from internal diciplinary hearings where he is allowed to even have representation. if comrades wanted to defend Malema they should help him with representation teams and support within the organisation. We do not need division to be sowed here. You cannot be pouring petrol on fire claiming you are putting it out. SASCO has done the right thing by condemning yesterdays behavior of the protesters. If it has been or it was, surely it has lost that credibility now with this barbaric attitude of those calling to support its President and leadership collective. It takes more to be a leader of society or young people than making calls about policies and leadership threats to the ANC... Thanks SASCO for putting an ideologically clear position around this issue. We condemn the violence directed at journalists, the looting of some shops and threats on the lives of passers-by. We are however extremely angered by the reported sexual harassment and assault on a female journalist by these hooligans who purport to be ANCYL members. The fact that this assault was directed at a female confirms our long held belief that patriarchal attitudes have a major impact on the actions of the majority of members of society, including those who claim to be revolutionaries. We call on the ANCYL not just do distance itself but to act decisively against those within its ranks who committed this sexual assault on a journalist and those who trashed SABC equipment etc. The struggle of a society where there is no exploitation of humans – one by another – where economic freedom shall be enjoyed by all and not just by a coterie of those that are connected to the political elite will never be achieved so long as women are oppressed and attacked, and so long as chaos is pursued with brazen impunity. All those who have a yearning of economic freedom will never sexually assault females just to save one of their own. We call on structures of SASCO to steer clear of commenting on these internal processes of the ANC, either in support of the YL leadership or that of the ANC. All those that enter the fray must do so not as members of SASCO but as members of these concerned organizations. These are internal ANC processes and should be left as such.
