*Sibiya murder suspect in court* *SAPA, IOL, Johannnesburg, 12 September 2011*A Durban man briefly appeared in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Monday in connection with the murder of eThekwini regional ANC boss Sbu Sibiya.
"He briefly appeared in court and he will appear again on September 20," said National Prosecution Authority regional spokeswoman, Natasha Ramkisson.
A date for the man's bail application would be set when he appeared in court next week, she said.
"He faces a premeditated murder charge, and will remain in police custody until his next appearance,".
Ramkisson said the prosecutor had requested that the man's name not be used until his next appearance.
The 34-year-old man was arrested in Durban's Yellowwood Park on Friday.Last week, Zamani Sikhakhane, another suspect in the Sibiya murder, was killed during a shoot-out with the police.
Sikhakhane's landlord, Bongani Tembe, and policeman Warrant Officer Rakesh Maharaj were also killed in the shoot-out.
Sibiya was killed in a hail of bullets when he entered his home in Inanda outside Durban in July this year.
The police recently offered a R50 000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Sibiya's killers. -- Sapa
