Media Release 14th October 2011 POPCRU building International Solidarity through Education Support POPCRU and Lesotho Mounted Police Service Staff Association [LMPSSA] will collaborate on an Education Programme for Workers in Lesotho Public Service organized by the Lesotho Association, to deliver on numerous interventions, amongst others on; Organizational Development, Leadership and Collective Bargaining. And the training is scheduled for the 17th to the 21st of October 2011 at Maseru, Lesotho and will be attended by National Office Bearers and other Officials. This is a continuous effort by COSATU Affiliated Trade Unions to cementing Trade Unionism within the public service, and building strong and vibrant Trade Union Movement in the Region in particular and beyond. Lesotho Mounted Police Service Staff Association was established after the 2002 International Labour Relations Symposium convened to reassert the importance of Labour Rights of Security Services Workers, which set pace for other Unions to be established in Swaziland, Kenya and other parts of the world, organizing police services and Correctional Officials in particular. And Public Services International [PSI] will be part of the programme as LMPSSA has also affiliated to the Federation of Public Servants Trade Unions and/or Association, to champion quality public services for citizens of the world.
