* * *YCLSA Gauteng Province Press Briefing * The Young Communist League of South Africa in the province of Gauteng held its 3rd Provincial Congress from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 November 2011. The congress took place among others in the context of: *1. High levels of youth unemployment, inequality and poverty;*** *2. Economic, social, political crises, other effects caused primarily by the dominant mode of production and suffered by the youth in majority; ** * *3. The successful rollout of the all important South African Communist Party 2011/12 Red October Campaign; *** *4. Final examinations in schools, further and higher education institutions; *** *5. Problematic tendencies inside and outside our national liberation movement; and*** *6. heightened imperialist aggression including militarism. *** Congress received and considered reports on these and other matters. In response it adopted perspectives, resolutions and a guiding programme for the next three years to be implemented by the organisation in the province. To take this forward congress elected a new Provincial Executive Committee.
