Media Release 08th November 2011 POPCRU welcomes the conclusion of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine POPCRU has welcomed the smooth proceedings which ensued at District Six Museum, a place preserving the symbolism and appreciation of the history of unjust apartheid system, which disadvantaged the majority Africans through atrocious laws such as the Group Areas Act. We have listened attentively to human stories and experts evidence on the continuing discrimination against the Palestinians by Apartheid Israeli and we will continue to consolidate efforts to building a Global Social Justice Movement as per COSATU 10th National Congress Resolutions and also solidify solidarity with workers of the world in particular and the working class in general. POPCRU has noted the threats to evoke the citizenship of one of the Expert Evidence presented by, Ms. Haneen Zoabi, who gave a moving testimony on the persecutions and depriving of fundamental rights and freedoms of villagers in Palestine. We recommit ourselves to continue to supporting the struggle for the Palestinian Freedom. And we impress on Civil Society Organizations in South and elsewhere to call for the ending of ill-treatment of the Palestinians and also demanding due respect for International Law by Apartheid Israelis. Forward with International Solidarity Support for the Palestinians! Forward with the Palestinian Nationhood! Down with Apartheid Israeli Capitalism!
