*SACP KwaZulu-Natal, Media Statement, 8 November 2011* ** ** *The 2011 KZN Red October Campaign * ** **The South African Communist Party continues rolling out its Red October Campaign Progress.
In taking forward its concept of building People’s Education, the Party in KZN has begun a Program to build and resuscitate all so called dysfunctional Schools. In KwaZulu-Natal such Schools are presently more than 50 schools.
The South African Communist Party is working closely with the Young Communist League and SADTU in conducting an audit in all these Schools on issues responsible for disfunctionality.
The Party has also taken a decision to use Education as one of the solutions for curbing the increasing rate of unemployment among the youth.
In taking forward the Campaign against unemployment, the Party is preparing conditions to ensure that all more than 126 000 Grade 12 KZN Learners presently writing examinations are gainfully deployed to different levers of Society come 2012.
This will be done, amongst other things, through:a)Paving a way that ensures that all those who achieve Bachelor entrance requirements are able to enroll with Universities. To this effect a meeting is being organized with all Vice Chancellors in order to create that possibility. b)Today (7^th November 2011) at 16h00 the South African Communist Party is meeting all FET Rectors and Council Chairpersons from the 9 FET Colleges in KwaZulu-Natal to discuss how they can collectively accommodate learners for enrolment in 2012, both those who would have passed as well as those who would have failed. We will also discuss the possibility of forming / creating Skills Development Centres where we don’t have Campuses such as in Bergville, Umsinga and other areas.
The Party will also be meeting SETA CEO’s as well as CEO of Companies in order to ensure that Learners are absorbed as Trainees for a myriad of Job opportunities.
