It was like a tyrant had fallen as a large convoy of cars lined-up the streets in the township, hooting throughout the night. Most of the people, young and old, came out of their houses to join the celebrations. This happened in the presence of police who were monitoring the situation to ensure it did not get out of control. Malema himself was nowhere to be seen near the celebrations, neither were his lieutenants who had been hero-worshipping him.
