POPCRU on Cross-Pollination of International ideas on Policing Issues
POPCRU will participate in the coming 76th Annual Conference of the New Zealand
Police Association from the 16th-18th of November 2011 at James Cook Hotel,
Wellington, in which numerous delegates are expected ‘ to discuss Association
business and debate the key issues affecting police and policing in New
Zealand’, as part of enhancing International Solidarity with Workers of the
World.
It will be mutually beneficial to follow on the building-blocks of the recent
successful World Cup Rugby, with recorded huge gains on policing experience
experienced and crowd control. And the gains were not for the economy, but for
workers within the police services in particular.
POPCRU contends that it is an awesome opportunity to grace this august occasion
in which workers of the world would meet through a cross-pollinating platform,
to solidify relations which may best be summarized in a document we
commissioned around 2004 titled ‘pathways and partnerships to change’.
And we are hoping to engage on their approach on crime-stoppers campaigns,
membership benefits and how to enhance policing in their country, to enrich the
Criminal Justice in South Africa on how other countries are engaged in a
struggle, to create a safer world to live in.
And we look forward to see many of comrades from New Zealand participating in
the coming COP17 Session and also the International Congress of Public Service
International [PSI] in South Africa around November 2011 and 2012 in Durban
respectively.
The Annual Conference will be addressed by New Zealand Minister of Police,
Commissioner of the Police and other International Labour Leaders across the
world.
