The Carnival will be attended by more than 5000 people. This includes people who played a major role in the struggle against apartheid – former and current leaders of faith-based organizations, trade unions, civic associations, women, student organizations, youth, cultural and sports organizations. The Carnival will end with a cultural festival where different cultural groups will showcase their artistic prowess. The ANC Chairperson Mr Paul Mashatile will address the Carnival. **** ** ** The vibrancy and the lively cultural groups will ensure inclusivity and mobilization of people for full participation in the celebrations. There can be no doubt that many of the people that will gather in the launch have common experience and perceptions based upon shared commitment to struggle and understanding of the ANC as a great movement of the masses. **** ** ** The launch is a great moment for South Africans and it provides an opportunity to show everyone the incredible progress, development and strength of the ANC since it was born in 1912. It will demonstrate the unyielding spirit of optimism that has always been quintessential in building a non-racial and prosperous society. **** ** ** The ANC has won many important battles in fight against oppression, underdevelopment, racism, poverty and unemployment. The celebration will be the first of its kind to show that we are a party that is still strong and united. There are few parties that can reach centenary hence it must be celebrated with great determination to further strengthen the ANC as the true representative of the people. **** ** ** The launch will serve as a hallmark in the traditions of self-reflection to building and renewing the ANC in the centenary. The ANC Centenary celebration launch is an important event in the history of the ANC since its formation. The launch serves as the highest point to unite our people on common programmes to build our society. **** ** ** The launch will give practical expression to mobilize many all South Africans behind our vision of a national democratic society and celebrate our centenary in advancing the struggles of our people. The overriding determination is to celebrate the centenary with dignity it deserves to ensure that the ANC promotes its hegemony in serving the people. It serves as an occasion to renew its values in transforming society.
