Pretoria - The ANC would release its draft policy papers for public scrutiny next week, the party's head of policy *Jeff Radebe* <http://www.whoswhosa.co.za/jeffrey-radebe-897> said on Monday.

He was speaking as the party's national executive committee (NEC) was locked in a meeting to "give its blessing" to discussion documents before the policy conference in June.

"We are going through a technical exercise of reviewing all policies adopted in Polokwane in 2007," he told reporters on the sidelines of the meeting in Centurion.

The papers would be released next Monday.

Radebe, who is also justice minister, said "there are no holy cows" when it came to policy discussions in the African National Congress.

"All party members, most particularly those co-ordinating policy areas, are at liberty to review each and every policy of the ANC with the view of nurturing it to create better life for the people. So there is no aspect of policy of ANC that is not under scrutiny as we speak."

From next week, members of the ANC and the general public would be the final arbiters of which policies would be accepted or amended. On Monday the NEC sat through presentations of draft policy documents on international relations, social transformation, and peace and stability.

The ANC's anchor document which had been sent back and forth - strategy and tactics - was tabled again on Monday.

The last NEC meeting held earlier this month finalised draft policies on education and health, economic transformation, state-owned enterprises, and development finance institutions.

ANC secretary general *Gwede Mantashe* <http://www.whoswhosa.co.za/gwede-mantashe-5142-5142> said only one document would not be circulated in its original form - religion and traditional affairs. It would be combined with other discussion documents, such as legislature and governance, and social transformation.

Radebe said the NEC would, after the endorsement of the basic tenants of all policy documents, spend next few days making changes as suggested by the leadership.
