ANCYL CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSTURE OF THE ANC TOWARDS CDE FLOYD SHIVAMBU

16 April 2012

The ANCYL is concerned about the statement released by the ANC
Spokesperson, Mr. Jackson Mthembu attacking Cde Floyd Shivambu. Indeed as
an organization known for it's commitment to engagement and harnessing the
interests of all in society with the aim of building a non racist, non
sexist, democratic, prosperous and united nation, it casts aspersions in
society about how we should always interact as comrades who love the ANC.

The ANCYL is concerned that issues should find resonance in the healthy
interactions between structures of the movement and should in no way seek
to go blow by blow on issues that are raised. The struggle we are in is a
struggle for political and total freedom. We are unaware of many easy
victories claimed, and at no stage should lies be spread. The ANC once
again missed an opportunity to educate and mould a comrade if he indeed was
wrong, and chose to throw insults and attack him as an individual. As a
younf cadre of the ANC, what is he going to benefit from insults by adults
in the ANC.

We believe that such an attack on a fellow Comrade is in its very nature
degenerating the values prescribed by the movement. The ANCYL will not
attach any significance to the personal attacks on Cde Floyd Shivambu,
because doing so will amount to undue dignifying of false, petty and
irrelevant statements and accusations

Cde Ndamase, we need cadres like you in this revolution which is
really under threat from the neoliberal offensive. We cant go on like
this. Please continue to provide us with this kind of Political
Induction and hopefully the commanders (of Economic Freedom) read this
article. AMANDLA!!
