*ANC Statement on the Late Florence Nyanda*

The African National Congress (ANC) has lost another of its stalwarts Comrade Florence Nyanda, who was fondly know as 'Mam Flo' on Saturday, 5th May 2012, due to illness.

Her death is a third of prominent ANC members and leaders, who have been serving government and the National assembly in a fortnight.

Mam Flo's death is incalculable as a champion of women rights and her voice was amongst the loudest in the national assembly and in the Mpumalanga province.

Mam Flo comes from a politically active family and has lived her entire life at the service of our people, both within the ANC and as a public servant. She will remain an inspiration and a symbol of hope for women in our country, who must emulate her commitment to the struggle and the advancement of democracy.

The ANC extends its condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Mam Flo and those that worked close to her.
