I think here after having had read statment as issued by the YCL Gauteng,one must agree that it managed to raise issues to the core of matters,the manner in which Cde MM raised matters in the statement captured the essence of the approach required when dealing with all our societal ills and many other ill informed by accumulation of suplus value through exploitation of labour power.
It is indeed very suprising that how can therefore Cde VC understand such matters in a reductionist form/approach. The understanding as put by the statement of Cde MM on behalf of YCL Gauteng captured the exploitative element of capitalism without altercation of polemics. It is good that Cde MM clarified these matters as i thought Cde VC was just maybe engaging from a narrow and somewhat shallow view. There the VC will learn, as we say, that a worker will only find work for so long only as his/her labour creates capital. Under capitalism access to use-values, as we say, is obtained through exchange-value. There's a money relation here. And as we correctly say, unless that is satisfied access is denied in the extreme or prohibitive in the moderate. The other issues that VC raises are not useful to respond to, at least for now. Homeless people know that homes under capitalism, unless private capital accumulation is met, are not meant for them. Here we are not referring to the RDP houses. Those are an intervention which we shall define if need be. Yes a car has use-value. But can you have one without the capitalists who dominate car production heaping up profit and privately accumulating capital? It's absurd to abstract exchange-value from production relations under capitalism. It is to adopt what Marx called in Capital Volume I 'the fetishism of commodities' which is what the VC is attempting to do by de-educating us.
