*Statement on the shooting that took place the home of our PEC Member* * * *31 August 2012* The YCLSA, Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] in the province of Gauteng remains deeply concerned about the security of its Provincial Executive Committee members. Last night around midnight unknown people arrived at the home of one of our PEC member’s comrade Regina Kgeroga and started shooting. No one was injured but cautionary measures were taken to accommodate comrade Regina elsewhere at an undisclosed location. This follows several of our PEC members who were using common transport on Sunday, 26 August 2012 after our lecture held in Oupa Phasha District in Katlehong being followed by a suspicious car. This car is similar to the one used last night by the thugs who were shooting at the home of comrade Regina. We condemn these acts of cowardice to the contempt it deserves. This matter shall be referred to the relevant authorities and we hope no sooner than later the truth shall be revealed. We would like to thank the police for their swift intervention and patrol thereafter when contacted.
