*SACP Statement, 22 September 2012***** *SACP Mourns the Passing Away of Cde Maria Mochaka and Cde Chemist Khumalo*This morning, a delegation of SACP staff members and other YCL members travelling to the funeral of the late Deputy National Secretary of the YCL were involved in a tragic car accident.
Two bright, most committed and loyal SACP members lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
Cde Maria Mochaka, a former Provincial Treasurer of the YCL in Gauteng and currently having served as PEC member of the YCL in Gauteng as its Provincial Secretary lost her life. Cde Chemist Khumalo, a former Student Union for Christian Action activist, a former SAYC Executive Committee member and currently working in the SACP Head Office Media Unit passed on as well.
The SACP and its entire membership are saddened by this tragic loss. No words can express the sense of grief we feeling.
The SACP sends its deepest condolences to friends, relatives, colleagues and family of both Cde Maria and Cde Chemist. The revolution has been cheated of talent. The most dedicated, the most disciplined and most loyal communists are no more. We dip our red banner in their honour. In their memory we will deepen the struggle for Socialism!
