** ** *_Introduction_*
The Red October Campaign has been an important campaign for the SACP over the past 12 years and has assisted in the grounding the SACP and communist ideas and values amongst the minds of ordinary South Africans. This campaign has helped the SACP to mobilise a broad range of individuals and organisations, beyond political divide in particular instance, behind a programme of action to radically change the lives of ordinary people.
This Red October campaign has been an important tool to recruit more members to the SACP. It has also been an important platform for the ideological development of SACP members, and generally to conscientise and mobilise the workers and the poor to be makers of their own history and liberation.
