Dear Thanbang,

Thanks for your swift response. One of our research team members will come
through to your office on Thursday 30 May to conduct the interview with you. I
would like to know if we could come in the morning perhaps between 9am - 10 am.
Otherwise you may give us a suitable time to come in. Unfortunately it would
not be possible for you to respond to the questionnaire alone due to the
details involved, and nature of the study. So a team member will administer
the tool to you.

I look forward to receiving your time of availability.

Kind regards

Adam Andani

Good day Thabang,

Thanks for suggesting an alternative email address, that was brilliant idea. We
appreciate your decision to grant us an interview on behalf of Environmental
Monitoring Group.

The study basically looks at Civic Networks in Cape Town. It is conducted
jointly by the African Centre for Cities at UCT and the Sustainable Livelihoods
Foundation of South Africa.

It  aims to explore;
- how civic society in Cape Town builds alliances and influence the political
life of the city and;

- how civic society collaborates with the public and private sectors to create
and sustain good urban environments.

It further seeks to map out Civic Society's participation in various local and
city-wide events/protests/campaigns
 as a means of tracing civic society's collective advocacy,
participation and, in effect, alliance building. These events will
assist us in understanding how effective community and civic society
mobilization is with regards to advocacy and alliance building.

We

 would very much like to interview you to understand how Environmental
Monitoring Group forms collaborative partnerships with other civic
organizations
 to influence issues.

Kindly confirm receipt of this mail since we have had problems reaching you
through your organisational email address.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
Adam Andani
