The SABC is highly factionalized against the SACP. In my view something radical and deep-going is needed, than just changes in individuals as I had cautioned elsewhere. A demagogue said it authoritatively that "they" used to run the SABC when "they" were still at Luthuli house. This must not be ignored. A thoroughgoing investigation how the SABC is run internally, focusing on but not exclusively TV news, is required as it is about how the external interests run or extend their influence in the SABC. The networks these external interests have and their pipelines into the SABC must be identified and cut down.
We can't allow the public's name and taxes to be used to feed private and factional interests. The sooner the better. Else there will be nothing different with the privatized 24 news channel which large sections of the working class and the rest of the poor are prevented from watching. DSTV will go to the bank smiling for hosting the channel with fees paid from the public purse, taxes and license fees including from people without access. Their coverage seems to have eyes where they decide not to cover our National Rally that was held in Tlokwe and continues to do that even in the province. Let the PYA in Mpumalanga rise in defence of the ANC from those whom their quest for power is informed by political arrogance which can only serve to perpetuate the prevailing economic status quo and undermine the progress made by our revolutionary alliance led by the ANC. The SACP Mpumalanga is deeply concerned after the disbandment of ANC Nkangala REC whereby the ANC PEC appointed those who are facing disciplinary actions in the SACP to lead the RTT which shows disregard to alliance unity and cohesion. We believe this was a decision informed by those who are against a voice ofdissent; there are those who want to turn the ANC into being their empire. The SACP will defend the ANC from internal and external forces who don’t care about the National Democratic Revolution but their selfish narrowed interest even to undermine the SACP. We will continue to campaign for the ANC as the only hope for the masses of our people. Those who want to reverse the gains the gallant liberation movement has done will never succeed. As part of election program, we will roll-out massive mass programs to ensure a 90% victory for the ANC in Mpumalanga.
