COSATU condemns Sowetan article

The Congress of South African Trade Unions vehemently condemns the article
in the Sowetan - 'Inside Vavi's sex scandal' - on 20 August 2013.

This piece of gutter journalism is based on a leaked copy of a confidential
report of a COSATU grievance hearing, which was presented to the National
Office Bearers.

By revealing the names of those conducting the hearing and lurid details of
some of the evidence presented in a private, internal meeting, the report
will cause great distress to those taking part and undermine the
federation's commitment to deal with the matter in a way which respects the
rights of all those involved to be treated with respect and sensitivity.

COSATU strongly condemns both the newspaper and those who leaked the
confidential report.
