COSATU Nkomazi-Local calls for
unconditional release of Communist
Party of Swaziland Deputy General
Secretary Cde Musa Dube
16 September 2013
COSATU Nkomazi Local demands the
unconditional release of Cde Musa
Dube, Deputy General Secretary of
the Communist Party of Swaziland.
Cde Musa was arrested on Saturday
14th September 2013 by Lukhosi
(special crimes) police on sedition
charges. Cde Musa, a peace loving
patriot himself is a high ranking
official of CPS who organically serve
the peoples of Swaziland in
SWAYOCO, and actively participates in
PUDEMO appeared in Manzini
Magistrate Court yesterday 16th
September 2013 and was remanded
in custody.
In April 23 2013 we issued a
statement to the effect that cdes of
PUDEMO were cracked down,
harassed, arrested, and tortured by
royal police for boycotting sham
elections. The regime intransigency
and its barbaric posture remains the
order of the day. Cde Musa Dube
only wants to see a better Swaziland
whose interest is vested in the
masses of people and not demi-gods
surrounding royal kraal and family
associates. He wants to see people
out of poverty, disease, dependency,
hunger, joblessness and
democratization of the state. COSATU
in Nkomazi will do anything in its
power to ensure ALL political
prisoners are freed unconditionally
and that interim government is
installed to lead us to democratic
elections. Autocracy has no space and
must be aggressively rejected.
These arrests are only intended to
intimidate peace loving masses of
Swaziland while the king and his ilk
live lavish posh lifestyle. The Local
remains stronger and has more
courage to face da tinkundla barbarity
head-on. Mswati can never sustain
arresting everyone who is deemed to
be disturbing his greed for power. We
reiterate our clarion call for more
mass protests and border blockades
and bring the backward feudal
system on its knees. All masses must
strive and fight for freedom of
Swaziland in our lifetime. The regime
is crumbling and desperately
swallows anything that it comes
across. Free all political prisoners.
Open borders and welcome all
political exiles. Unban political
parties. Constitute an interim
government and set day for National
Elections. Stop police barbarity.
