The Coalition Against Imperialist Aggression South Africa (The Coalition) is
formed by the following participating organizations:
Boycott, Divestment and Sanction South Africa; Congress of South African
Trade Unions; Muslim Student Association; National Education, Health and
Allied Workers Union; Palestinian Solidarity Coalition; South African
Communist Party; South African Student Congress; Union of Arab Communities
of South Africa; World Federation of Trade Unions; Young Communist League of
South Africa.
The Coalition is fundamentally anti-imperialist, and is presently organising
a march. The march is scheduled to take place on Friday, 4 October 2013 from
the Caledonian Stadium (10h00) to the US embassy in the City of Tshwane. The
purpose of the march is to demonstrate against imperialist aggression in the
Middle East and Africa with focus on the imperialist sponsored war taking
place in Syria.
The United States (US) and its allies in the European Union (EU) are
sponsoring terrorists such as Al Qaeda and various factions of rebels with
weapons, intelligence and other forms of material support to bring about
regime change in Syria. This involves mass murders.
The US has appointed itself the world's police against the use chemical
weapons. On the contrary it has supported Iraqi use of chemical weapons
against Iran in 1988, Israeli use against Palestinians in 2008-2009, and has
itself used them against Vietnam in 1962-1971. As The Coalition we are
fundamentally opposed to war and the use of the weapons of mass destruction.
US unilateralism, threatened and sponsored attacks on a sovereign country
such as Syria are a blatant violation of the United Nations and constitute a
war crime. This so-called intervention has nothing to do with assisting the
people of Syria other the capture of the control over resources.
