ANC Statement, 24 December 2013 Condolences to the Mokaba Family The African National Congress sends its condolences to the Mokaba family who lost a mother and grandmother in Mama Priscilla Mokaba who died yesterday. MaMokaba was a towering pillar of strength in her community, an activist and also the mother of the late Comrade Peter Mokaba, a fearless and dedicated revolutionary of our struggle. The African National Congress applauds the role played by MaMokaba and many other selfless mothers like her who would have raised and nurtured a nation during the most turbulent of times in our history. This role she continued to play even during the democratic dispensation, guiding and leading generations to come to remain true and committed to the creation of a better society for all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mokaba family and friends at this time and we wish them strength and fortitude during this time of sorrow.
