3 January 2014 Funeral service of comrade Crosby Moni The South African Communist Party (SACP) wishes to confirm the details of the funeral service of its fallen Central Committee member comrade Crosby Moni, who passed away on Sunday, 22 December 2013 after contracting malaria from a short visit to Mozambique. Comrade Crosby was an embodiment of our revolutionary alliance. He was also African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament. He previously served in its Provincial Executive Committee and as Deputy Provincial Chairperson in Mpumalanga. As a worker he belonged to the National Union Mineworkers and rose through the ranks of the union as a Shaft Steward, Regional Chairperson and Deputy President. He laboured consistently for the unity of workers under the banner of the Congress of South African Trade Unions. Deployed by the SACP, comrade Crosby helped to build the South African National Civics Organisation. He will be sorely missed. The details of the funeral service are as follows. . Date: Tomorrow, 4 January 2014 . Time: 09h00 - 13h00 . Venue: Ku-Banzi, Elixeni, Cofimvaba in the Chris Hani District, Eastern Cape Province Speakers: Comrade Thulas Nxesi - SACP Deputy National Chairperson will address the funeral service.
