“DoE must employ all temporary educators as permanent workers”-COSATU NW and 2013 matric results The Congress of South African Trade Unions and its affiliates in the NW congratulates the 2013 matriculants, a highly appreciation with many thanks to our members and the rest of educators, including all staff members of the DOE, who played a major role in making sure that all material and resource are there for our learners. We want thank all educators for making sure that our province [NW] get to the second in the country, including making sure that our learners got what they wanted and planned for 2013. The NW matric results of 2013 must send a clear message to everybody in the country that NW can do better than what it has been doing in the past years including improving quality service to the rest of the poor communities in the NW. Our learners , our educators of 2013 operated under very bad conditions such as dilapidated schools, some no materials, some learners went to schools with no food, some educators worked under pressure from home and pressure from the employer. Rural and farm schools were still fighting for their rural allowance and the improvement of the working conditions. As the federation of workers in the NW we will continue to make sure that we support our members and speak for them jointly with our SADTU un-apologetic to call for the DOE to improve all the conditions of educators, including demanding the implementations of all resolutions and employing all temporary educators as full time educators. As we do that ‘ we will continue with our program of adopting a school and monitor our members including making sure that all educators and management do their work on time and call for the government to fulfil their promises in particular those of making sure that materials are delivered on time in all school from grade R to grade 12. We are calling all those matriculants, who did not do well as per their plans not to lose hope, they are ways of making sure that they can get their matric using our government institutions in the province. Once more congratulations to our province, congratulations to our educators and our learners, including parents for giving support to all the learners during the 2013 exams.
