ANC urgent application to be heard tomorrow

The urgent application of the African National Congress to compel the DA to
comply with the Electoral Act in terms of the prohibition of publishing of
false information has been set down for hearing tomorrow, 2 April 2014.

The parties are expected to appear before the South Gauteng High Court as
follows:

. Date: 2 April 2014

. Time: 10h00

. Venue: South Gauteng High Courtroom 9F

The ANC's insistence on the truth in this matter is rooted in a belief that
the public should be able to rely on political leaders' assessment of the
state of our politics and distillation of complex issues.

The SMS circulated by the DA, in the wake of the release of the Public
Protector's Report into the Security Upgrades in Nkandla, is a deliberate
distortion and misrepresentation of the Public Protector's report.

The Public Protector did not find that President Zuma stole money to build
his home.

Instead, she confirmed that President Zuma did not use any state money to
build his private residence. The Public Protector therefore did not find any
evidence on which such theft could be inferred.
