Department of Military Veterans, 22 April 2014 Launch of the digitisation of the Military Veterans Heritage Programme The Department of Communications and Department of Military Veterans will be launching the Digitisation of the Military Veterans Heritage Programme on 26 April 2014. The Department initiated the digitisation of the Military Veterans Content Programme to target both the non-statutory and statutory forces. The programme aims to record, profile and digitise the history and experiences of the South African forces. This event, which is in line with the 20 years celebration of democracy and freedom, is aimed at honouring heroes who fought for the freedom and the democracy of the country by preserving moments that took place during their times of struggle. This auspicious event will be hosted by Ministers Yunus Carrim and Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
