Comrade Kenny,

I fully agree with Cde Sive. NYDA is doing fairly well under the budgetary
and institutional capabilities' circumstances. You do not have to get you
neighbor to get Grant funding to start business for one to acknowledge the
good work done by this Agency of Government. 2nd Chance programme is going
on now for those youth who will soon sit for matric exams. Without
reiterating the statement by Cde Yershen Pillay the Chaiperson on NYDA,
NYDA can never be the panacea to challenges facing young people in the
Republic of South Africa!

There are only 03 Government Departments I am aware of with Youth
Directorates, Youth Units in most Municipalities are either in adequately
resourced or lack capacity to execute youth development Programmes. State
Owned Entities are also not that committed to deliver on youth development
mandates.

However, the signing of the Youth Employment Accord was a milestone towards
the right direction. We need to ensure that Private Sector, Departments,
Parastatals are able to deliver on those Commitments!

Maatla!
