Makonde Break the Chains Campaign rally a success The South African Communist Party (SACP) Alpheus Malivha 6th District Congress extends its gratitude to all those who made the release of comrade Amos MBEDZI rally at Makonde stadium a success. The event was attended by more than one thousand five hundred (1500) people of the village and representatives from over 20 organizations who presented messages of support all calling for a heightened action in support of the freedom struggle in Swaziland and the immediate release of comrade Amos MBEDZI and all political prisoners and detainees in Swaziland. The district was humbled by the confidence of the MBEDZI family to the campaign initiative to push for their son, brother and father to finally comeback and bring happiness to the family again. The African National Congress (ANC) was represented by the Vhembe Regional Chairperson comrade Tshitereke MATIBE who is also the Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality. He affirmed the ANC support to the Break the Chains Campaign. He committed the leadership role of the ANC to the campaign from an alliance stand point through joint planning and practical action. The General Secretary of the Communist party of Swaziland comrade Kenneth KUNENE, gave a profound analysis of the situation in Swaziland and how it connects with South Africa and the world at large. The Mswati autocracy is not only a dreadful condition to the working class people of Swaziland, but also South Africa and humanity at large. Mswati must be isolated, politically, economically and socially until he submit to the noble demands of the majority people of Swaziland. The National Chairperson of the Break the Chains Campaign Dr TF FARISANI appreciated the support the village of Makonde gave to the campaign. He outlined the positive developments of the campaign since its launch March 2013. Dr FARISANI assured the rally that freedom in Swaziland will come because the Mswati autocracy is using tactics that are not different from other dictatorship. He assured the rally that the Mswati autocracy will also crumble the same way the others were overcome. The 2nd Deputy General Secretary of the SACP comrade Solly MAPAILA was the guest speaker in the rally. He emphasized on the importance of community mobilization to bring about real change to the working class. His input helped the community to understand the importance of international solidarity and live to the true values of the congress movement that Africa will never be free until every of its square meter achieves democracy. Swaziland is one country whose people are illegally governed by Mswati's family causing massive poverty impoverishment to over 70% population and South Africa can play a role in supporting the people of Swaziland to achieve their democracy. The struggle of the African people is not yet over. The rally endorsed the signature campaign that will lead to the petitioning of the Swazi embassy in Pretoria in the next month. A total of 10 000 signatures will be collected from the Makonde village and its neighbourhood. The petition will be calling demand for the total unbanning of all political parties in Swaziland, the unconditional release of all political prisoners and detainees and the safe return of all exiles to their country Swaziland. The district will be playing a major role together with the alliance structures and civil society organizations in coordination of the campaign and its developed programmes.
