*The Milk bowl has fallen and the cats are fighting amongst themselves, the
EFF is in the crossroad within.*

*07 July 2014*

I was sitting at home with my wife to be and my four years old baby boy
that I love so much. Our cats were milling around our feet. My wife to be
was preparing breakfast for me and while she was pouring milk into the
bowl, it fell by mistake. I was looking at the two cats fighting amongst
themselves for that milk. I began to ask myself how come these two cats
were friends for such a short historical time. Now because the milk in the
bowl has spilt they treat one another as enemies.

I began to shake my head in wonder. The once friends, now fighting cats
reminded me of the power battle in the new- born political organization,
the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) between the self-styled Commander in
Chief, Julius Malema and some of its structures in Gauteng and the Western
Cape. What caused this turf war between these leaders obviously is a power
struggle within their structures and amidst claims by his provincial
lieutenants that he is a dictator.

And I am pretty sure that it is not only these two provinces that are angry
with Honourable Malema, but other provincial EFF fighters who have been
given a mandate by voters of this country to promote their revolutionary
interests. Now it is all about a few individuals who want to rise rapidly
to power for their own selfish enrichment. What about the people who put
them there with the hope that they would make their lives better as pledged
in the EFF manifesto?

It is quite evident that one of the provincial leaders in Gauteng who was
removed from the provincial structure in a form of restructuring accused
Honourable Malema of being a dictator he was when he was in the ANC YL. He
even went further to suggest that the EFF is going to the path of Congress
of the People (Cope).

Those people, who are fanatical about Julius Malema and his fellow rogues
in the EFF, are now upset that they were not doing what was expected. These
same people continue to struggle because the leadership is not dealing with
their interests, but performing in a comedy of red overalls in our
Parliament and Provincial Legislatures. Indeed no normal person can take
these childish comedians seriously. These poorest of the poor will only be
let down by the embarrassment of its leaders who prefer public spats to
healthy engagement.

The EFF is characterized by bullying and arrogant leaders, who are not
conscious of the interest of the young working class and the poor who are
the majority in this country. Their only interest is expelling and
suspending those who challenge Julius Malema just as they did in the Youth
League. Why should you allow battalions to lead you if they are not willing
to be engaged in democratic discussion?

Ho Chi Minh, father of the Vietnamese Revolution said, *“All my life, I
have served the homeland, the revolution and the people with all my heart
and strength. If I should now depart from this world, I would have nothing
to regret, except not being able to serve longer and more. When I am gone,
a grand funeral should be avoided in order not to waste the people’s time
and money.” *

Why can’t we be like this great philosopher of the Vietnamese Revolution?
When we leave our organization, we should leave it with a good legacy. Let
the tenderpreneurs, the bling-leaders hiding under their red overalls, the
publicity seekers, those who ascend to positions of leadership with
populist rhetoric, and demagogues tremble! Indeed the milk bowl has fallen
and the cats, historical comrades, are fighting amongst themselves.
