SACP Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee,
SACP Gauteng Press Statement
05th OCTOBER 2014
SACP GAUTENG PROVINCE CONGRATULATES AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS (ANC) FOR A
SUCCESFUL AND UNITED 12TH PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE
SACP GAUTENG PROVINCE congratulates its historic primary political alliance
partner, African National Congress for an overwhelmingly successful and
united 12th Provincial Conference held from the 3rd-5th October 2014. 12th
Conference was attended by democratically elected delegates representing the
revolutionary membership of the ANC. Alliance partners SACP, COSATU AND
SANCO and international fraternal structures and embassies also attended the
Conference.
SACP believes that the maximum unity displayed by delegates to the
Conference is a profound development that lays the basis for the province of
Gauteng to rise on new foundations as our revolutionary song The
International would suggest.
SACP deeply appreciate the commitment of the 12th Conference to the maximum
unity of the revolutionary Alliance led by the ANC.
SACP firmly believe that this ''new foundations" will push back the
frontiers of forces of "low intensity counter-revolution" now taking the
form of fascism, anarchy, use of violence and rejection of democracy.
SACP further believe that the maximum unity displaced by delegates has laid
a solid basis for a radical second phase of the National Democratic
Revolution, with the ANC-led Alliance leading organs of the state in a more
coherent, complementary and decisive manner, thus hopefully ending the
abstraction of the last five years of "two centres of power".
In this regard, SACP reaffirms its long held view that reference to an
abstraction of "two centres of power'' does not as the commercial media
portrays it, refer to a contest and clash of personalities. It simply refers
to the reconfiguration of power relations between the ANC-led Alliance as
the only centre of power, and the state organs of the revolutionary people.
SACP is confident that the maximum unity displayed by delegates will further
serve to consolidate, deepen and advance the NDR as we move towards the 2016
local government elections.
SACP congratulated all leaders as elected democratically by show of maximum
unity, a revolutionary practice to be upheld moving forward.
SACP is looking forward to working with the newly elected leadership and to
implement 12th Conference resolutions.
