South African Communist Party, Mpumalanga Province, 4 February 2015 SACP Mpumalanga Province Goes Ahead Joe Slovo and Jimmy Mohlala Memorial Lecture continues! This is the 60th year of the Freedom Charter, which declared: “South Africa belongs to all who live in it…” In South Africa, as the fruit of the implementation of the Freedom Charter, everyone is entitled, according to our constitution, to freedom of expression, including, political rights. Having listed the freedoms and the rights for a transformed South Africa, the Freedom Charter concludes: “THESE FREEDOMS WE WILL FIGHT FOR, SIDE BY SIDE, THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES, UNTIL WE HAVE WON OUR LIBERTY!” True to history as ever! The struggle continues! The SACP in Mpumalanga Province hereby invites the media to the provincial memorial lecture to commemorate the revolutionary life and times of Comrades Joe Slovo and Jimmy Mohlala and celebrate their contribution in the struggle for liberation and social emancipation. This lecture, which was previously interrupted by hooligans cannot be dropped in the hands of anarchy - for South Africa is not a banana republic! We are forging ahead, under the theme: Stop political assassinations in Mpumalanga: Advance and Deepen the National Democratic Revolution! The lecture will also be used as an opportunity to reflect on the revolutionary duty to build the Alliance strong, mightier, than ever before - this based first and foremost on the respect of the principle of organisational independence of its partners.
