South Africa Highlights Cuba's Presence in Summit of the Americas Prensa Latina, Havana, Cuba, from Pretoria, 4 April 2015 Cuba's presence at the next Summit of the Americas in Panama is today a confirmation of the example of that Caribbean Island's resistance for the world, said a leader of the South African Communist Party (SACP). The situation shows that the U.S. is losing ground in Latin America and the [North] Americans have realized that, said Chris Matlhako, secretary of the International Affairs of that Party, in statements to Prensa Latina. Mathlako highlighted the integration process taking place in the region and said that the U.S, have noticed that it is impossible to stop this progress. 7th Summit of the Americas, 10-11 April 2015 Mathlako - also secretary general of the Friends of Cuba Association in South Africa - said that the Cuban presence at the meeting will be something historic, because it takes place after the big pressure made to force Washington to change its policy towards Cuba.
