SADTU Principals' Seminars Media Alert, 15 April 2015 SADTU to hold Principals' Seminars to deal with violence in schools The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) is convening one-day seminars for principals to deal with school based violence and management thereof. The seminars will be marked by presentations on the impact of violence on education, school management, governance and instruction. The seminars will begin in Gauteng on Friday, 17 April, 2015 and spread to eight out of the nine provinces until the end of May. The seminars will target close to 1 200 principals who are SADTU members, nationally. Gauteng MEC for Education Panyaza Lesufi will address the Gauteng seminar which will take place as follows. . Date: 17 April 2015 (Friday) . Time: 09h00 . Venue: Parktonian Hotel, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. The other provinces will hold their seminars as follows: . 23 April - Mpumalanga Province, Mbombela and Limpopo Province, Polokwane . 30 April - North West Province, Mahikeng. Principals from the Northern Cape province's John Taolo Gaetsewe Region will take part in this seminar . 8 May - Western Cape Province, Cape Town. Principals from the Namaqua Region, Victoria West and part of Pixley Ka Seme Regions from the Northern Cape Province will take part in this seminar . 8 May - Free State Province in Bloemfontein. Principals from other regions in the Northern Cape Province will take part in this seminar. . 28 May - Kwazulu-Natal, Durban . 29 May - Eastern Cape Province, East London and KwaZulu-Natal, Durban The media are welcome.
