21 April 2015 ANC Women's League Sets New Conference Date The National Executive Committee of the African National Congress Women's League met in a Special NEC meeting on the 16th April 2015. The meeting was convened to assess progress made in dealing with the final preparations for the ANCWL National Conference. The meeting was followed by a briefing with the National Officials of the ANC on the ANC Women's League's state of readiness for National Conference on the 17th April 2015. While engagement is continuing with our structures to ensure that any residual concerns which were raised by branches as part of preparations to the Conference are attended to, the ANC Women's League has satisfied itself that the vast majority of the issues identified have been resolved. These related mainly to technical and administrative challenges on the membership audit and verification process, all of which are part of normal Conference preparations processes. The few remaining challenges will be resolved through the normal Dispute Resolution Committee. Provinces of the ANC Women's League have been engaged and are working together with the NEC to ensure all the structures which are in good standing, and passed all elements of the audit form part of the Conference. Consequently, a new date has been set for the ANC Women's League's 6th National Conference and it shall be held from the 14th to the 17th May 2015 in Gauteng. The Conference will be a festival of ideas tasked with developing policies that will change the lives of our people, and women in particular, for the better. The Conference will also elect leadership to take forward our programme of radical transformation of women's socio-economic rights.
