South African Communist Party, 20 May 2015 Comrade Jeremy Cronin, SACP First Deputy General Secretary to address the Party's Gauteng Congress The SACP Gauteng Eleventh Provincial Congress will start on 22 May 2015 and end on 24 May 2015, a day before the continent celebrates Africa Day on 25 May 2015. The Congress occurs at a time when there is an important discussion in our country, about moving our democratic transformation on to a second radical phase. The state and role of public enterprises, as we have seen in the case of Eskom, are presently at the centre of the discussion, and the SACP is strongly opposed to privatisation! Next month the ANC-led Alliance is hosting the Cuban Five who were unjustly incarcerated in the United States. In July the SACP is holding its Special National Congress, which will end exactly two days before the opening of COSATU's Special National Congress. It is under this context that Comrade Jeremy Cronin will be addressing SACP Gauteng Eleventh Provincial Congress as follows. . Date: Saturday, 23 May 2015 . Time: 10h00 . Venue: Lake Hotel, Benoni, Ekurhuleni The media is invited to attend and cover the event.
