SADTU to host SATO Games

 

 

The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) will host close to a
thousand teachers from the SADC region, to participate in the 4th Southern
African Teachers' Organisation (SATO) Games to be held in Durban.

 

As sport is the most effective unifier of people irrespective of race,
colour or creed, the SATO Games provide the educators from different
teachers' unions in the region with an opportunity to gather and celebrate
their profession. 

 

SATO member unions include Zimbabwe Teachers' Association (ZIMTA), Zambia's
National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) Namibia National Teachers' Union (NANTU),
Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT), Lesotho Association of
Teachers (LAT), Botswana Teachers' Union (BTU), Tanzania Teachers' Union
(TTU), South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) and the teacher
unions in Mauritius, Angola and Mozambique.

 

This three day event will see members of these unions competing in soccer,
netball, volleyball, table tennis, lawn tennis, basket ball, darts and
athletics.

 

The details of the event are as follows:

 

.    Date: 28 August 2015 (Friday)

.    Time: 09h00 - 12h00

.    Event: A welcome parade from the King Dinizulu Park down Dr Pixley
Ka-Seme Road to the Durban City Hall.

 

.    Date: 29 - 30 August 2015 (Saturday and Sunday)

.    Times: 09h00 - 17h00

.    Event: Games at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Howard College and
Westville Campuses), Durban.
